R4 Tears in Bimini Top Stitching On The Corners

Post by BRDad »

Hello,

1 year old R4 with under 10 hours. Noticed today that there are tears on the edges of all corners of the Bimini top. I have the top with the tower. It's hardly been used.

Anybody else having any issues like this?

Have Cobalt repair or have them replace?

Pics attached.

That's actually not a tear...they didn't push the binding far enough onto the fabric when they sewed the binding. Simple repair...someone has to remove the threads a couple inches each side and then resew.

I have made the same mistake on my covers I have made.

That is good to know. It doesn’t seem like it’s super hard to get the top off of all the poles. Meaning I can take it down to the dealer and let them fix it and then put the whole thing back on my self?

It seems like the front unzips in the back just wraps around the post.

Yes...you should be able to take it off. The dealer will have to send it to a canvas shop as they don't normally do those types of repairs.
