FINALLY I got up on the wave!

Post by lespaulrob »

Ok, so I recently lost about 55 pounds and finally felt comfortable enough to try this whole surfing thing. Today, I popped up after about 4 times trying (more times trying with no success a few days ago) and it seemed to just "click". Anyway, this was my last run of the day which turned out to be almost two songs worth of surfing! WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!

Also...I'm 6'5" and about 260 or so, surfing on a Phase 5 Doctor board. Speed was 11.3mph and the trim was set at 11% surf left. Full ballasts.

Congratulations! Surfing is fun and for those of us that are not as young as we used to be it's a fun way to participate in water sports without worrying about tearing some muscle/tendon etc... Ha ha! My wife and I spend hours out taking turns. Makes us feel young again!

Great job. I'm interested more in losing 55 lbs.

Great job......but your not surfing until you let go of the rope. Your being towed. Throw that thing in the back of the boat and give it a go. FYI the cobalt looks like it makes a nice wave. We surf on a Malibu axis t22

Sure. quick reminder that it's my first day up. :) The wave is OK here, LOTS of push. my oldest is still learning how to drive to form it up right. You need to drive in a slight arc to the left to get it to roll over nicely (not a sharp turn just slightly btw) but straight on, it's still big and gets the job done, it's just not as pretty of a wave.
