R33 Surf!!!!
So just saw on instagram cobalt coming out with an R33 Surf. I don't know if this is news to anyone, but it was to me. It would be interesting to surf behind that beast!

The R8 Surf throws a big wave. The R33 Surf seems like it will capsize some nearby boats!

Re: R33 Surf!!!!
We have an R8 surf and we are super happy with it. The wave is awesome. But we average 10-11 GPH when surfing. The R33 with twins I'm guessing would be 20-25 GPH to surf behind... expensive day... but i guess if you can drop 500K on a boat you can afford some expensive surf sessions.trimtn wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 8:15 pm The R8 Surf throws a big wave. Re: R33 Surf!!!!
Comparing R8 with R33 for surfing. We had a Cobalt R8 I learned to surf on. I had just got the hang of it without a rope and was addicted. Then we traded it in on the R33 surf. The wake was better on the R8. I really miss it. It was a cleaner wake. We have experimented with adjusting R33. Can't get a wake I really like. I can also see the difference in the wake in my pictures/videos. It has a lot of other pros, but I much prefer surfing behind the R8. I don't care to surf very long behind the R33 like I did the R8. I was planning to try to learn a 360 this summer, but probably not with the new boat. As far as speed, we do about 11.5-12 mph on the R33. I watched a video that recommended 12mph. I prefer to go slower. I really miss surfing behind the R8.
