Glass Cockpit - Intermittently Not Powering On

Post by jdag »

I have a 2020 R3 with the Garmin Glass Cockpit displays. On occasion, the displays are not powering on. This started this season, it had never happened before.

It is very intermittent, to the point where I am not seeing any pattern. Sometimes they work perfectly. Sometimes they will power on after several minutes. It is sometimes following the boat being off for a while, and sometimes they power on perfectly after sitting for long periods at anchor.

I've tried turning the batteries off and back on, turning them to dual. I've crawled underneath the helm and hand tightened the connections.

On Saturday, they worked every time I started the boat. On Sunday, they didn't come on several times, including at the end of the day when I had to go back to the marina "blind".

I am confused and starting to get frustrated!

The dealer is looking at it this week. But any ideas you may have would be appreciated.

Thanks, John
