Overpowered?

Post by JDboater »

I’m all for excessive HP, but powering a tri tube with twin 400s on a 3,900 acre lake seems a bit excessive, no?

All I can say is “get-cha some!” It’s hard to make a pontoon non-gay, so maybe this is his way of trying to make it cool?

I know a guy who had one with twin 400s. However I was out on my 22' donzi this summer and found a guy with a 27' tritoon with twin 500s. He was getting 70mph out of that monster

I've been passed by several pontoons with twins hanging off the back. They cruise by me like they are in their living room. But they also cost 250k.

We all love power, but I sure hope the marine architect got it right on weight distribution- Put all that weight on the back of a toon type, hit a strong headwind at 70 and watch her flip or stuff the bow. I wouldn't run it, well at least not the 500's
