Ski locker drain plug calking

Post by MuskokaJake »

ImageHi everyone. Recent Cobalt owner

Last week I purchased a 2005 Cobalt 200 with only 315 hrs in near pristine condition.

One issues that has stumped me is the ski locker is wet (I think from some rain a couple week ago when the previous owner left the cover off. The bilge works perfect and the engine compartment is dry.

In the ski locker where I’d expect to see a plug, it is filled caulking around a rounded screw head.

What options do I have to get water to drain out?

Any guidance is appreciated!

So glad you found us MJ….

Difficult to tell from the pic but your ski locker should drain into the engine compartment. If that hole in the rear is plugged, I would drill it out.

And welcome aboard mate.

Thanks very much. Yes the photo is of the rear of the ski locker. I’m waiting on a local dealer to get me a new drain lug, and then I’m going to drill out a spot to fit it in.

Thanks again for the suggestion.
