Need Some Advice on First-Time Boat Owner Essentials

Post by maxschmidt »

Hey everyone

I'm super excited to share that I'm about to become a first-time boat owner, and I figured there's no better place to get some advice than from the Cobalt community. I'm getting a Cobalt (obviously! 😉), but I want to make sure I’m fully prepared before hitting the water.

For all you experienced boaters out there, what are some absolute must-haves for a newbie like me? I’m talking about safety gear, maintenance tips, any cool gadgets you can’t live without, or even just things I might not have thought of yet. When I was Googling for the same I came across these resources viewtopic.php?t=6716 however they are good but I want to learn more from community members.

Also, any recommendations on what to look out for when doing regular maintenance? I want to keep my boat in top shape, so I’m all ears!

Thanks in advance, and I can't wait to join the Cobalt family on the water!

A good first aid kit with lots of band aids and a really good pair of tweezers. Seems like wood docks like to leave souvenirs in people's feet.
