That particular pump uses a 1/4" hose that goes down the center of the dipstick tube (yes it's slow). THe tube that comes with the pump is not long enough to reach the bottom of the oil pan. You can get 1/4" plastic tubing from Home Depot for about $6. I bought 25ft and just throw away the used tube each year and cut a new piece.
Why don't you screw into the top of the dipstick tube instead of using the small diameter tube down the dipstick? Makes it probably 5 times easier.
My oil extractor doesnn't have that attachment. If it did I would. The West Marine only comes with 1/4 and 3/16 options. I didn't realize it at the time of purchase
I am sure it would be easy to add. Have a link to the pump you bought?

Almost looks like you could attach some clear tubing to the top of the unit and then run that to a garden hose adapter. Would use hose clamps on each end so it wouldn't leak.

Something like this might work depending on hose diameter.

Trust me, you will get tired of trying to suck oil through that tiny hose.

I agree it's not fun, but honestly, I'm still limited to the size of the dipstick tube. It's not that much different. If 1/4" fits down it, then it can't be more than 3/16' ID. What I am really gaining? Plus, I would have to re-engineer the fitting on top of the pump. As is it does it in about 15 mins. Pump and walk away.

The dipstick tube itself is huge compared to the tiny tube you slide into it. If it works for you...great! I have see people fight with the small tubes if they fail to get the oil VERY warm!

Just wanted to make sure you didn't have a better option with the pump you have.

I bought that exact thing, according to Amazon, back when I first did my oil change, but the Marpac Fluid Xtractor (non-West branded version of the same thing) came with a garden hose end for one of the hoses so I didn't need it. See here for an old pic:

It still wasn't fast due to the oil not being warm and the hose being small, but as sailor says, you can pump it to draw a vacuum and walk away so speed isn't particularly critical.
