Exhaust Manifold Anodes

Post by billk2632 »

Do other VP owners replace the exhaust manifold anodes on a regular basis? Planning to inspect mine, but being in a freshwater environment where replacing risers/manifolds is unheard of I don’t expect to see anything but a like new anode. But I am interested in what others are doing. Prior to my purchase two years ago, boat was always serviced by the Cobalt dealer - I to see where they were ever previously replaced.

Not much of an issue. Four seasons in SW and there is very little sign of corrosion of the anodes. But I regularly flush the engine at the end of the day.

I'm going to pull mine out and take a look - according to my dealer, they check them when servicing, but rarely replace them - these are all freshwater boats and mostly dry stored.
