It's how this all works
 At least we talked about engines the whole time. Also, we learned. About engines and each other.
I thought we stayed pretty well on topic on this particular thread. Actually stellar performance for this crowd.

Tuscany, by locked do you mean I can’t buy my V8-300 ecu and install it, or just that I can’t go in and edit the fuel maps and whatnot? I have a car where all that atuff’s encrypted, and someone had to crack it and make a reflash for aftermarket tuners to use. Seems to be the waves of the future...

Sorry John I failed so far but have not given up. Forgot yes.lol
Now I would raise snakes and turtles and keep them in the garage cans.

Suggesting he add a few turtles instead of a few horses seems a sure way to instill confidence in a new board member :)

BTW, changed some code just for you Bigblock that should help quite a bit with the login thing going forward.

John,
From what I’ve gathered, their ECUs are not interchangeable. They are assigned and mated by engine serial number. I see VP’s point in locking them. If they didn’t, they would be interchangeable, and they would lose the protection of charging people extra for their power levels.

Well crap. I know you can't reflash a V8-225 ECU with V8-300 code using Volvo's tool, but I hoped swapping the whole ECU would work. And that big 5.7L will last forever in a 210 :/

It may cost you a few turtles but I'm sure within a few years theirs going to be a few places that are going to be able to flash these ecu's.

I would get Phender clips no matter what. Led lighting rgb lighting. Stainless steel garbage can for Oscar. Flag. The 380 will do great. Get the 430 so I can buy it in ten years.lol
Really your going to be loaded heavy so yes the 380 would be a min. The 430 will have the extra pull for surfing. Your pushing alot of water even though your only going 10mph. If you can afford it do it. Skiingstrongman what was in the one that you surfed behind? Make sure you get perfect pass. Tower speakers.
I like this color choice.lol
Again congrats :-)
The Surf I have used is the R5 with a 380. The 380 has better low end. I’m 230 and I have no issues at all getting out behind that boat. Tuscany is right they are exactly the same it’s the variable timing that makes the difference. I’ve heard it independently from several dealers.

I forgot to mention.....
Don’t order the flag. If you twist their arm slightly, Cobalt will throw in the flag for free.
I had the US eastern sales rep in a Ric Flair “figure four” for a half hour at the boat show in Toronto, and all I could get out of them was the flag..🤣🤣

We have to assimilate them quickly or they'll just be lost... or is it the other way around?
