Did you ever figure out a solution?

I have an 18 R5 and would like some shade for the bow. The hard part definitely appears to be the poles and how to connect them to the boat.

You sure about that? On my last boat I lost the binimi boot (very similar to our design, but smaller). Local shop near me wanted $800 to make that 5 years ago. At the boat show a couple of years ago one guy wanted $2k for a lesser built mooring cover.

Boat canvas is stupid expensive at a shop in my experience.

Boot cover was 250 bucks here and my now and cockpit cover was 1200 bucks. Still cover I bet 500 bucks

Way late on this, but my bow and cockpit covers for my old 21’ were $1100 for sunbrella. Guess it depends on the area, but here you could definitely get a bow sail for $500 or less.

Does this still exist at west marine? I am looking for a bow shade for my 2019 CS22. It looks like there is a center pole that supports it?
