Has anyone removed the two little cooler storage compartments at each corner of the seating in the stern area? I think a lot of the late 1990's and early 2000's models had these.
If you have removed then, how are they mounted? And what is underneath them once removed?
Here's a photo of the piece I'm referring to:

There's nothing under it.
The drain just dumps in to the hull and leads back to the bilge.

Im not near the boat, so I can't look at the moment. Do you know if it is fiberglassed as part of the floor? Or can you unbolt it and remove it without damaging the floor?xlint89 wrote: Wed May 27, 2020 10:22 pm There's nothing under it.

I thought I had a picture of it, but I do not.
My guess is it's part of the floor/mould. Reason I say that is the cooler bottom is just insulation foam with the drain hole drilled through it. If it were able to be removed, I'd think it would be fiberglassed. But it's not, so I'm guessing it was built into it.
I'm not 100% sure though. Hopefully someone else who does know will chime in soon.

I'll try and take a look this weekend. If they can be removed I may try and see. Would love to free up that space since we don't us those for anything.xlint89 wrote: Wed May 27, 2020 10:49 pm I thought I had a picture of it, but I do not.

They are part of the top cap mould, so unless you’re good with a zip saw and fiberglass I wouldn’t mess with it. If you do take them out I’ll buy the lids.

Ouch, I can do fiberglass work, but that's way too much trouble if it's actually molded in as part of the floor.akorcovelos wrote: Thu May 28, 2020 12:30 am They are part of the top cap mould, so unless you’re good with a zip saw and fiberglass I wouldn’t mess with it. I realize it's been 5 years, but has anyone removed these? They don't hold ice and take up space.

They make a really good step for people to step into the boat without stepping on the seat cushions.kethridge wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:11 am I realize it's been 5 years, but has anyone removed these? They don't hold ice and take up space.
