Re: New to forum
In order to have high confidence you're getting the right impeller, we would need to know the full model number of the engine (e.g. 7.4GLNIC instead of 7.4L) A lot of impellers are sold under different brand names and different model numbers, which also makes it difficult, and some like 21951346 are no longer made but substitute to another part number. Volvo-branded ones are fine, and people have had good luck with quality aftermarket brands like Sierra and Johnson.
My favorite place to look up stuff like this is marinepartseurope.com, who have pretty thorough parts catalogs online.

Re: New to forum
Thank you. I can't read Volvo tag on motor, so I'll have to find my manual and see if it's logged in there. Boat was given to me from my cousin. It's out of Austin, Tx and always in fresh water but he let it sit for at least 3 years. I have pics of pump and tags, but haven't figured out how to upload yet
Thanks again

To upload pictures, you need to use the "Full Editor & Preview" button below the text box - that'll bring you to a window where you can add a photo as an attachment (look below the text entry box), and choose where in the post to put each attached photo.

So glad you found us F.M….
Don’t forget the batteries as well.
How old is the trailer? Looks fairly new. If not , be sure to check the trailer bearings.
And welcome aboard mate.

"Can't read anything on it"
A couple ways to tackle this: 1) Clean the tag with solvent, then take a picture with your phone. If needed, use the flash then photo editor. I've seen that work. 2) The number is also stamped on the block, perhaps starboard back. 3) Contact a dealer with your HIN. They might be able to look it up. 4) Use the spy method: Clean tag, cover with tracing paper, gently rub paper with side of pencil.

Hi Guys,
Pretty pumped to be able to finally get back into a cobalt. Had an 04 200 a while back and loved.
Now we have just bought a 15 r5 wss. Can’t wait for the weather.
Quick question tho, I’m gonna try to remove the as/alum tower so I can get it in my shed when I get it home but it’s not a swing down like my last one. It looks permanent.
Any one have experience taking them off?
Looking forward to learning all the good and bad!
Thanks for accepting me!

So glad you found us Persi.
That was an interesting topic on this site years ago. Someone had suggested a reciprocating saw and it kind of blew up on the site.
Any pictures? And welcome aboard mate.

Re: New to forum
I can't envision your exact tower, but they're usually bolted into aluminum plates in certain locations below the arch or tower. If there aren't bolts visible from the top, you may be able to reach up under gunwale trim (this is sometimes hidden behind seats) and find the fasteners.Persi wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 6:05 am Hi Guys,

If you do go the saw route (which is a terrible idea), please take video
