Stainless foot tread installation

Post by Dcraiggerhart »

Hello. This is my first post. I’m asking for some feedback on 1) “do it yourself” installation of the stainless foot tread for a ‘21 R7 Surf. Am I correct that there are 6 screws needed? If so, what length did you use? I’m not sure what is underneath the slanted foot rest decking area. Any disadvantages to adding this option? I currently have Sof-Trac.
2) I’m experiencing too much glare on the glass cockpit Garmins, on extremely sunny days. I have the rotating sunshade. It does not extend forward enough to shade the Garmins. Already using polarized sunglasses, and the Garmin brightness adjustment is all the way up. Has anyone used the screen protectors that help with glare? Do they work? Any brand recommendations, and disadvantages to using them? Thanks for any insight. David

.
So glad you found us, David.

You will be able to use 3/4” stainless screws to mount the stainless foot tread. Any stereo or other wiring that may be above the footwell location will be out of the way. It may get hot though if you are in a constantly sunny location and have bare feet.

Have you tried the matte anti glare protectors for your Garmins? You may be able to find some here.

Others will chime in shortly.

And welcome aboard mate.
