R6 forward Bilge exact location?

Post by Oliverdarthole »

Exact location forward Bilge in R6/R8? My forward bilge switch is continuously lit/on. Guessing float is stuck although I don't hear the motor running. Assume it is under the floor of one of the 3 cockpit hatches just hoping someone knows which one its under.

Thanks

You're saying that if you switch the forward bilge pump switch off, it stays lit up (i.e. is running automatically)? I don't have an R6 myself but I think I recall seeing somewhere that the forward bilge pump is under a floor storage compartment forward of the ski locker. Hopefully someone who has the same boat and has been down there recently will chime in, too.

The answer from Cobalt direct is that it is located under the floor of the center of the 3 cockpit hatches. I will confirm this weekend.

Actual answer- It is located in the center hatch closest to the transom. Under the white piece of flooring that has a finger hole and hose access section. It is the only piece not screwed down which is a nice touch on Cobalts side to make this inspection repair quick and easy. These bilges are LoPro LP900S. They do not have a traditional float switch, they have 2 white sensors ( about 1/4 diameter) on one side of the red motor housing. I just cleaned them offer really well and the pump turned off as expected. If those get dirty the pump will continue to run. Outside of moving all the stuff in the storage compartment it was a 10 minutes fix.
