New depth sounder 2001 226

Post by smhgator »

Hello,

I have decided to have the depth sounder on my 2001 226 replaced. Was planning on using a glue in hull type transducer. Can anyone suggest a specific brand/model to use?

TIA

". . . in hull type transducer."

Why that vs. a transom-mounted one?

I really got tired of mine, seems like every time I bump into it cleaning I need to relearn how to set it, not to mention my eye sight isn't what it used to be and it really doesn't standout that well. so I went with a Raymarine i40 with a through hull transducer because its reliable. I have a Garmin chart plotter mounted under the dash but I really need depth in my face because our lake is rocky and has a lot of outcrops to navigate. The i40 fits into the rectangular section of the dash to the right really nicely. The alarm directions are sketchy i had to look them up on line. but it works perfect and I can see it clear as day.
