2027 R6 Bow Seating - NEW!!!

Hi All,

I was just looking at a new 2027 Cobalt R6 on a dealer website today and noticed that the starboard bow seating lounger has done away with the foot space and replaced it with a full length cushion to match the port side lounger. Good move Cobalt! The bow area in this model is too short for one’s feet, unlike the R8 which has more space.

Anyone notice any other changes?

Wait, there are lots of changes in what is now called the R26.

New 26’ boat replacing the R6 and R6 Surf. Now the R26, R26 Surf. These are the Sterndrive models. Nothing on the Outboard, so far.
21 Degree dead rise, same as the R5. I believe the R6, R8 are in the range of 18 degrees. I’ve test driven the R6 on the river. Big difference in big water. We have a 2014 R5 380VP we run on the St John’s River in North Florida. The river gets big on a regular basis.
I like the R6, not enough to part with the R5. Looking forward to seeing and driving the R26.
Same deck plan, except for the Starboard bow seating. They hinged both bow seats at the top, similar to the hinge point on the R5 and R6 starboard bow seat. The entire seat and backrest now open up as one. On both the starboard and port sides. Of course the port side backs up to the Head compartment. Not as deep, bow to stern, as the starboard side. Still it is new, assessable, storage. Probably makes the Head not as deep.
12” Dual Garmins (GPSMAP 1243) available. Dual 9”(943) standard.
Hydraulic Swim Platform looks cool. $$$$$ Not sure it’s needed with the Swim step, but it does look very nice.
Looks like the same engine choices.
However, Bow thruster is available with the Merc. Single engine Joystick, in combination with the Bow thruster, only available on the Volvo Penta.
I do wish that Cobalt would make Seakeeper Ride available.
