103 day dry spell FINALLY broken by....wait for it.....
People use it to get out on the ice. Just foot traffic now, but when the ice gets thicker they'll run 4 wheelers and trucks. I should have taken a picture. There are some foot prints leaving the ramp and heading out on the ice.
A couple of my crazier friends back in the day (and Jim Mattone reinvented crazy).. they would drive out about 4 miles on to Lake Erie where is was pure ice and wind blown totally smooth. They would run their trucks up to 60 mph and spin it out. They would spin in circles forever and would totally disorient until you came to a stop.
Now I was never crazy enough to go with them, but I heard it was a freakin blast..
Just who would even try that.. well if you knew Jim Mattone and some of his friends after a few drinks..

Yea lots of ice fishing going on here. Snowmobiles on the ice. Ice boat racing and kite flying and sturgeon spearing, so the ramps give access to the lake during winter.

Yes they fall in.They go get them and insurance buys them a new one.actually a idiot went through last Saturday right in front of my brothers by the launch.lol he made the news and I'm like I know that spot.lol

Lol, when I saw the pictures I was wondering where that was.
Chautauqua Lake becomes an intersection for snowmobile trails leading towards different towns. Lots of lake traffic when the season cooperates. I’ve been on that lake a lot, and I’m never comfortable.
