At The Prop Shop in OKC the expert claims a satin finish will bite better than a slick shiney prop will. I have no idea but it seems like it makes sense. I guess if you're racing and trying to gain an extra .10th of a second it might make a difference. He said he polishes them all the time for people too. They definitely look better shiney!

Whatever is on the prop scrapes off with my fingernail. Maybe just something from sitting in the water for a few days.

Looks like a generally all around great time. A little paint on that skeg and nobody will be the wiser, just a memory.

Damage report....could have been worse. Wet sanded the skeg and gave the prop a nice matte finish

Getting better my friend, thanks for asking.

Hell, I snapped th skeg off of my Chaparral twice. Once by hitting a rock a half mile out where rocks shouldn't have been, and I have absolutely NO idea how it happened the second time. Pulled it out of Chautauqua lake and it was gone. Never felt a thing. Could have been a bad weld job from the first time.
All you did was wet sand it a little for a fresh coat of black!😀. BB has you covered for everything detail.

Thanks for the pics of life beyond the Arctic..😂

Hmmm...I've been looking for a boat name  Actually found a shirt at Havasu that said "Attitude Adjustment", I like the ring that one has to it. Going to sleep on it for awhile and if I still like it, might have to have a renaming ceremony :)

Yeah it was fun. I know this is the wrong crowd for it, but I wish it had been about 5 degrees warmer. Would have made everything a lot more comfortable. Waaah. :D

Ouch! That has to hurt. In our old Tige I hit an underwater rock at Powell, I had driven by it a couple times and knew where it was, just happened to be paying more attention to the wakeboarder I was pulling than where I was going. Bent the prop and knocked the rudder hard enough to crack the fiberglass around the mounting point. Good thing for insurance, that was an expensive repair.

Haha. I get this question a lot from Mrs. Liquid. Who's YT? Who's Aslan? Isn't that a fictional Lion? What's a Big Block?

Big Block Power wrote: Sun Dec 31, 2017 4:05 pm I've beached not a big deal to me. It's not nice on the gel though. Those pebbles no I'm not beaching there. We're there are small ones the big ones are not far away. If I have a dock close no way would I beach though. Or just anchor or a bit and walk in. Plus I wouldn't leave it beached all day on night.

T hope you feel better soon. Reaction to meds it's no fun.been there.
Worst sore throat of my life, including the pain from when I had my tonsils out when I was 38. Texted my Dr, and ended up in the emergency room. That's where they found the med reaction.
I'll be better in a couple of days. Already feeling better this morning.
THE BILLS ARE IN A HE PLAYOFFS! Probably won't go far, but we broke the drought and finally have a real coach and GM, so that helps the mood!😀😀😀

My boat weeps.. those Lake Havasu pictures are enough to make any northerner cry like a little girl. I'm dreaming of summer 18'!
I am waaaay to anal to put any kind of rash on my colored hull. I'm betting that BB's beaching days will be behind him when he takes delivery of the orange Surf!

Happy New Year peeps!
Sorry to hear that Tusc - I myself contacted the Hantavirus this past week. Absolutely ridiculous. Aside from that, being a Jets fan living in Western NY, watching the Bills & Bengals games on separate TVs with a gaggle o Bills fans, pulling hard for the Bills - that 4th down TD in the Cincy game was pretty magic. Congrats.

I could probably do a better job of responding in one comment... resolution for 2018.

Nauti - I love the Works. Nasty stuff though, be careful.

Speaking of Skegs: Here's how I put her away this winter. sad face.

Also this guy could use a little prop shine himself!
