According to reports:

Cobalt Boats has named Terry Clark as its new company president, the company announced Thursday.

His experience with performance management systems, productivity maximization, and systems and logistics excellence will further enhance Cobalt’s leadership team, the company said.

Clark obtained a Masters of Science degree with an emphasis in manufacturing engineering from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. He did undergraduate work at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo., and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Okla.

During his tenure in the aviation industry, Clark held positions of increasing responsibility to include general manager of Beech’s Salina, Kan., facility, general manager of Cessna’s Columbus, Ga., facility, general manager of Cessna’s Independence, Kan., facility and president of CitationAir based out of Greenwich, Conn.

Certainly sounds like a good fit with his engineering, performance and design background.

I was a little surprised they went outside the Neodesha, KS family for a new president, but this guy seems to have the background and experience to run a multi-site manufacturing company. I had read that Cobalt was producing its bigger boats (A40, etc) in Tennessee going forward, and aspires to compete more directly with Formula, Sea Ray, etc. in the bigger boat segment.

Hope it works out well for them!
