There are a few issues to work out.
First, making the women open to the idea. Our group has been chatting for well over a year now, so this group of guys and girl could hit it off immediately because I think we all very comfortable with one another. . The ladies are completely in the dark it will be very awkward for them.
We are going to have to work on that. Liquid, your wife sounds like mine. I got the look when I floated this.. once the ice is broken, they would all probably hit it off. A couple adult beverages always breaks that ice if they take the step. No pressure.
My only time issue will be the 4th, and the few days leading up to it.. We’re a little busy cutting steaks. Although I don’t hold a knife anymore, there is always something that goes wrong, and my job is fixing what’s broken. I kid my refrigeration service company to always pencil me in on the 4th..
If the weather is good, I would love to have us launch at Sturgeon Point and take the 1/2 hour ride on Lake Erie into Buffalo. It will all depend on the wind that day. If it’s a calm day, the ride back at night is simply the best! If it’s windy, we’ll go up to the Outer Harbor to launch. The cruise to Niagara Falls speaks for itself. There are some great restaurant choices on the Erie Canal, but sometimes docking is an issue. Then, there is always downtown Buffalo’s “Canalside” where there should be plenty of room to dock (I hope), and there are a few very nice restaurants within walking distance with reasonable prices.
On Lake Chautauqua, I suggest launching at Long Point State Park. Great launch area. We can have a bite to eat in Bemus Point where they are a few nice restaurants. I would suggest the Ellicottville Brewery, or the Italian Fisherman. Both offer great views of the lake. TIF has been sold this winter, so I don’t know what they story is there, but ECB can always be counted on for great food, microbrew beers and reasonable prices.
We can always work out who rides with who. I’ll have a spot for YT to make a mess.
For those towing from out of town, I’ll have ample parking available by my house.
Then, we’ll have to figure out a garage christening plan if I can get Wendy on board.
