262 ride along

Post by AsLan7 »

.
This video just posted, and it’s really just a 2005 262 sales demo. I love the salesman’s enthusiasm. Just not very impressed with some of his boating techniques. (For one, he totally misses turning on the blower while starting the engine. Major no-no. Feel free to point out his other techniques (good or bad) for knowledge sake).

However, it does show the nice ride from the 260 series hull in rougher conditions (at the 7 minute mark).

Also, the black speakers mounted on the fiberglass arch look really cool. 8-)
YTMSN, once your arch is mounted on your 262 this fall, I expect cool speakers like that.

Enjoy the ride fellow 260 owners....🚤🚤🚤

Looks like the channel is a bit narrow to be running over 50mph with one hand, filming with the other, and narrating. Doubt he could steer and control throttle very quickly if something popped up. Does seem like a solid boat, though.

Thats the guy who sold Tgrace his 262. The dealer is on LOTO and lets just say people take more liberties at LOTO than at most other lakes. Its seriously a damn free for all down there and the biggest boats win. The boat is still up for sale on their website. Someone buy it. Could add to the 262 club we have going here.

Yep exact guy I bought mine from. And the same area of LOTO's I did the sea trial on. I saw that one right after I purchased mine and thought hmm how can I get speakers on my tower. I'm just unsure how I would run the speaker wire without drilling into the tower.

BBP (aka the wire runner) will chime in. 8-)

Yes you need this. I'll expect to see them come summer. BTW - I'm headed down today and will be there tomorrow to show my boat. I'll peak in on yours and make sure all is well :D

A7 I already have rear mounted speakers! That's an awesome looking boat. I'm anxious to get my arch installed

I'm 1:30 into the video and I already have three cringes in addition to A7's blower...first, hand tight on the drain plug. Might be fine, but that's the last thing you want to be vibrating loose and falling out while on the water. Second and third is the battery switch...waiting until the boat is on the water to turn it on, and then from what I was taught, the ALL position should only be used when neither battery has sufficient juice to crank the engine over on it's own. Since both batteries are hooked in parallel, if one fails it's going to take the other with it. Also more load on the alternator.

You’re hitting all my negatives with his instructions in this “test ride” video as well, T550. Keep going.

Positives—love his enthusiasm! 8-)
