Trailer slightly nose down...run it or level it?

The safety chains on my car trailer aren't chain they're curly qued cable. They don't hang down and drag on things and are plenty long for sharp turns they're rated at 9k and galvanized..

Coated Cables scare the daylights out of me. My last trailer had them and I accidentally pulled away without unhooking them while in a hurry. At less than 5 miles/hour-----SNAP. One of the cables let go. Water had apparently gotten into the coating and rusted the cable through. Only one of the cables snapped, which tells me had this happened at road speed, the trailer would have had still had one cable attached and likely have caused the trailer to go out of control. The trailer was about 7 years old. I take the blame for not checking more thoroughly, but spot inspections revealed nothing.

My new trailer has cables as well----I'm looking into replacing with chains this spring.

Id' definitely go with bungee cords....what could go wrong!

I'm sure if Thunder looks hard enough he can find some exotic retainer system that none of us has seen before and is made from cost-alot-alloy or unobtainium.

I don't know Thunder, but I'm all in with anybody that has an "in" on unobtianium....I tried to buy stock in that once, but it was unobtainable at the time.

GM recalled their tailgate cables for that exact reason. Ok we all better check our cables. Leave them attached after you disconnect your boat and put your small SUV tow vehicle in gear and just punch it quick. If it holds your ok. If not just replace them
