FWIW, towed 262 from Arkansas to Erie with Bimini upright (not open) at 70 mph. No issues. Didn’t expect any since boat would almost hit 60 mph. YMMV

I have the EZ Fold Bimini. At the international Boat show in Toronto, I asked the North East rep from Cobalt how I should be towing..up or down.
He says to tow up.

Personally, I think given a choice, and if there isn't a good reason, why have it hang up there in the wind?
Makes more sense to lower it.

I would think the pounding and speed on the water is much harder on a Bimini than towing.

Nothing is tougher than rough water on a Bimini, up, down or whatever.
My reasoning is to keep the bugs off of the boot. I have to hose off the canvas and boot every time we tow at night. I think every bug in western NY hits our windhsield on the way home.🕷🕸

Mooring cover on my 2014 210 works great while towing - between the ratchet strap and the support poles in the front and back that are a part of the cover package, it doesn't really move even at freeway speed.

Forget the bimonthly (Pot the Jus) Heck, I won't tow without a cover period. I get home, rinse off the canvas, open the boat....and violet' to my "surprise" a bug splatter free interior!
