Haha. Thanks guys (or gals). My garage workshop is pretty well equipped. There isn't too much I can't make out of metal or wood. But it's really what I enjoy. My profession is engineering, but my I guess one of my passions is fabrication and restoration.

Tonight I decided to let the paint on the transom pieces cure a little bit more before reassembly so I worked on a coupke of other items. The fire extinguisher in the bilge had corroded a bit so I covered the bulb and bead blasted it and the mounting bracket. I'll repaint it and then polish up the bracket next.

Hmm that's weird. When I load files from my phone, they come in sideways, but not when I load them from my pc....

No matter...

I also took a crack at dressing up the 2 10" Wetsounds subwoofers I bought to match the Revo 6's. I added RGB leds to the grills.

Tomorrow I'm planning to reassemble the transom parts, so hopefully that goes smoothly. In the meantime, here's a picture of some other accessories I picked up for the boat this week. 7000+ lumens! Can't wait to take the boys out for some night swimming on the lake!

Looks great. Keep them coming.

If you take all of your photos with your phone hold it in the landscape position and they will always be oriented in the proper way.

I'm REally liking your pictures and progress.

Your extinguisher might just need to be replaced. I'm sure it's shelf life has expired if it's the original, even if the dial is still in the green. Someone can probably speak to that better than I can.

I have a huge respect for anyone that can fix, fab, restore, build, machine or make anything. Especially in their garage! Kudos to you

Originally that was my plan, but that sucker is over $500! The dial is still in the green and the bulb end looks OK. I checked the user manual and there is no indication that it has an expiration date - it just needs to be weighed and be within it's specification for weight. The original inspection tag was mush, so I'll pickup a new inspection tag, weigh the unit to make sure it's in spec and call it a day for now.

Ok, now it's official. It had the cam, it had the tune, and it even had some extra massaging of the intake... But it wasn't official until tonight....

It's Alive!

I fired up the engine this weekend. After I made a quick set of battery cables (turns out the jumper cables I have aren't good enough to use as starter cables), she fired right up. It was hard to tell at the time if there were any leaks as water was spraying everywhere, but as best I could tell there are no oil or fuel leaks. This video was early on - it hadn't gotten up to temp yet, but I did forget to open the vent on the gas tank. So after about 8-9 minutes of running between 700 and 3000 rpm, the A/F ratio started leaning out and I shut down when it hovered at 17. I'm pretty sure it was the collapsing gas tank (oops!). The dragster dash tach wasn't working right, but I think I had it wired backwards as there were no markings on it to know which was the signal input. No matter, though, as I could read the tach via the scannerpro software.

That's one big checkbox ticked off!

I also finished the assembly of the transom side of the outdrive. I made a how-to video that I'll have to edit and post to Youtube. Now I just need Mother Nature to cooperate and warm up a bit so I can clean and paint the bilge and start reassembling some stuff.

Nice work! Thanks for sharing the pics and vids. I've always wondered how the manifold water jacket opened to the exhaust, really neat to see it open like in your video.
