Transom Remote

This is a double post, please remove if not allowed. I have posted this under my 262 build thread but thought someone that doesn't go into that section might see this and be of some help.

I have replaced the stereo to a wet sounds unit in my 262. OE was a sony unit with the sony TR. The new WS TR is now in stock and I have that part. It is round and they can not be just swapped out.

Things we have to figure out:

1. Does that hatch come up far enough that it covers part of that current TR? I can test this after work tonight while cleaning.
2. How do you get the current TR out? I know there are screws around that side part, however.. it looks like at the bottom it is tucked in behind the swim platform, so not sure.

My goal is to mount the new TR where the current one sits. Just not sure if I can surface mount or if I will have to inset it. I do know I will have to make something to put around it to cover that oblong hole. If you have done something like this.. show me what you came up with.

Judd I bought my boat this way but maybe this will help. The hatch clears and both remotes work great.
