Re: April SPRING Pics
I use 3/4 ton to get boat to storage but end up backing down the ramp & putting in the lake with my little Jeep Wrangler. The "little 220" Cobalt is just a little too heavy for the Jeep. So I slide a few feet, stop, & repeat, eventually getting to the water. So, t550, we also have a water slide at our ramp, Ky. style!

All Kidding aside. You have the right vehicle for towing.Protip wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 9:49 am From the looks of this thread I spent to much on my tow vehicle and not enough on my boat lol. Bought the 3/4 ton to make sure I could pull a big enough boat. Then I went and bought a little 220 lol. Looks like pretty much everyone else did the opposite.
10ply tire for no sway or heat build up.
Rear differential that can handle load.
Brakes that are increased in stopping power.
And suspension to handle the tongue weight.
If you knew the 1/2 on trucks Ive seen with the paint burnt off the differential cover and a gear howl.. well.... sometimes we push things.
Thats why I commented we need a "Towing when no ones looking" thread"

Re: April SPRING Pics
I have certainly done my fair share of towing beyond the limits. Had an old Durango that used to pull some pretty big enclosed trailers around for racing motocross.

Re: April SPRING Pics
Well, I don't have any pics, but as of today, I also don't have any snow in the yard, so that is a win. Still a foot of ice in most lakes.

First time at the gas dock. I incurred some pain, but I'm sure I'll get used to it!

Cycleman - pain in gas prices on the lake! That's a convenience I'm just gonna have to pay for.
