Factory location for transom trim switch

Post by thunder550 »

On the older (mid-late 90's) style boats, where was the factory transom trim switch located? I just picked one up for my boat, want to locate it in the factory position.

T555555000000 put it on the port side. I hate mine on the starboard side.

Why do you hate it on the SB side?

Because when you raise and lower it before getting into your small suv you have to walk to the other side of the boat and drive. I rather just push the button and walk to the drivers door.

And here I was thinking sitting on that platform backed in a beach you can tune the trim right handed.

I'm glad everything is to my right when anchored.

Then again if I was a southpaw??

Your transom is different shape with a walkthrough right?

Should I put it in the color strip, which would be under the snap-in cockpit cover? Or out in the white area? I'll do port side if the cable is long enough, but I think I may be forced to put it on the SB side since that's where the trim pump is.

Yeah harness is only 6 feet long, I think port side is probably too far away.

Yes mine is a center walk through if you were trying to match mine. It would be just to the left of your gas cap right next to the factory swim platform just below the stripe.

You need something to do tonight anyways just move the pump to the other side. Or mount it in the middle seeing that you didn't do a walk through. White teal where ever you like it.

BB feels very strongly about this not being on the starboard side....you shouldn't listen to him just to annoy him!

Our factory one is on the starboard side and it doesn't bother me to walk a few more steps around the boat or truck. I can find other weird things to complain about than that switch being on the "wrong" side! LOL
