Hi folks,
Just took delivery of a super clean 2003 240 blk/wht 5.7GXi. Only 180 hours. We are very happy with it thus far. This is our third bow rider and will clearly be our favorite. Prior boats: 1994 7.3 Baja 208 Islander and 1995 4.3LX Bayliner 2050 Capri. We are still figuring things out and discovering the features of the boat. Handles very nice though. Glad to be a new forum member.

Congrats from Texas on the upgrade. Great looking boat. As you can tell from my screen name I also upgraded from a 208 islander. I just found this forum a few weeks ago. Great info and people on here.

Thx. The 208 Islander was a super fun boat. very very fast. I think it would go about 73 mph or so. Shallow hull though and not well balanced. That motor with 40 gallons of fuel created some real issues in choppy water. IMHO
My wife and I had it before we had kids and sold it 16 years ago. Picked up the Bayliner for super cheap and used it 6 summers. Just sold it for a few hundred dollars more than I bought it for.

I wish I could figure out how to fix the rotation of my photos. Very sorry about that.

Yeah, had a few people come off their seats when running at WOT. Would get real loose and bounce around a lot. But, very fun!!! Also had it before kids with my girlfriend (now wife). Sold it in '08 just before my daughter was born. Was boatless for over 3 yrs before I found our Cobalt.

Not sure about photos.

Welcome from St. Louis/table rock lake. I’m also a former islander owner as I had a 96 272 with a 454. She was slow and rode like a log boat but it sure was pretty lol.

Anyways welcome aboard! I’m sure you will get much enjoyment out of your new 240 and won’t turn back.

Oh I forgot to mention this. Nauti reminded me. Welcome to the Black boat Brigade!

Also let's see some pictures of your islander.

Welcome from Oklahoma! Glad you joined us and looking forward to more interaction. This is a great group of folks that make it easy to develop strong friendships. Even if all of our wife's think we're a bunch of innerweb weirdos.

Congratulations on a nice boat! I sold one just like it after restoring it back to mint condition. You can read about it here and maybe pick up on a tip or two. viewtopic.php?f=47&t=195

And as BBP said, Black Boats Matter. Reds are coming on strong, we have a few blues, and one yellow. But we like'em all!

Very nice! I can see why there are so many black boats on this forum. They look the best.
