Hello from Kansas City, BBQ USA

Post by MikeBo »

Wanted to introduce myself, my wife and I just acquired a pristine 2000 292 from a friend of ours. They bought a new boat for a retirement gift, and I had been in line for the old one for years.

The boat has twin Volvo 5.7 dual prop motors, and looks absolutely like new. I waxed it and there is not a single chip in the gel coat. The boat only has 250 hours on it.

I hauled the boat from Lake of the Ozarks to Tablerock it’s new home, via KC. I wanted to ad that I towed it with my ‘16 f150 ecoboost Max Tow with no problem.

Look forward to any suggestions, aftermarket additions, Cobalt wisdom, etc.

Hope the pics come thru,

Mike

Thank you, I was ecstatic to find out it had twins, was completely surprised.

The boat is white not sure why the pic has a yellow tint.

Helloooo MikeBo. Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Congrats on your recent 292 purchase. Classic colors that never go out of style.

Stainless cup holders are a must and some even have the LED’s around and/or in them.

Others will suggest you change the steering wheel.

How’s the Bluetooth connectivity? Tunes are a must.

Any engine pics? Thanks for the great intro and exterior shots. We love them here. 👌🏻👍🏻

Once again, welcome aboard mate!

Sweet. Welcome from Wisconsin. I'm not sure of anyone else on here boat on table rock. You might be the first.
Also you might want to convert your docking lights to led. Yt can give you some tips. He says it only takes like 30 minutes

Welcome from St. Louis/table rock lake! Where do you keep your boat on table rock? I’m at the harbor on Indian point. I’m guessing since you are from kc you are in the shell knob area?

My family’s house is at Kimberling City so I keep the boat at the Port of Kimberling. I boated past Indian Point this week, wanted to see how it handled the chop and it was no sweat.

I need to replace the cup holders, a couple of the ones behind the captains seat blew out. Where do you pick up the stainless ones, are they standard size? Will all the cup holders just pull out?

The tunes are a Sony xplode system, no blue tooth but it has an old school aux cord to play Spotify on, quality isn’t to bad and it has remote controls at the cockpit and the rear.

Thanks for the feedback

Oh yeah I can cruise at 30-40mph all day long in my 262 so you are golden in that 292. You see the occasional large cruiser but for the most part small 1-3ft wake.

You should do the cobalt regatta that the harbor is putting on July 28th at Campbell point marina. I know a few others on here will be participating

Cmattj never owned a boat longer than 20 and have never had twins. The folks I got it from are conservative and the slow cruiser type, I was completely shocked to see that was the motor combination they bought. Docking it last weekend was a real nail biter for me, but it went ok.

Well it is 9 feet longer, but Ive said this before. Boats get shorter the more we drive them. Seat time and she will feel like the 20 Footer.

I as approach the dock I leave the steering wheel straight and use each engine as the steering (like a Tank). Short "in gear and out of gear bumps" with one forward with the other back to change my direction ETC. (Gear select sticks only No throttle) You can park anywhere once you've practiced it. Which I strongly recommend finding that dock some where and practice .

It will come to you after awhile and it will be easier to maneuver than the 20 foot boat you had previously.
