Separate fuel tanks
Separate fuel tanks
Can anyone explain to me the logic behind having separate fuel tanks on a twin engine boat? The annoying part is the generator only feeds from the starboard tank so the levels between the two never match.

Only reason I can see is so the generator doesn't run the engine tank dry so you still can get where you need to go.

Re: Separate fuel tanks
Ah the things you have to worry about when you own a 35ft boat. Really seems like too much trouble, and the two fuel gagues not reading the same has to be maddening. You should just trade BBP straight up for his 220 and its single fuel tank.

I'm I'm on that. I don't think I can afford to fill both tanks. So they might still read a bit off. Is there a selector switch so you can pick which tank everything feeds from? Or it's all hardwired?Joe wrote: Mon Jul 02, 2018 8:41 am Can anyone explain to me the logic behind having separate fuel tanks on a twin engine boat? Where are the tanks on that boat, and how big are they? Could be for weight distribution.
