Faded Bimini Boot

Post by Red Stripe »

IMG_0887.JPG
I did not realize how faded my red bimini boot was until the boys at the launch started giving me a hard time about the fuchsia accent color on my boat. Well I could not handle that and decided something had to be done. Because of the Cobalt Crest stitched on the cover I was not able to do a traditional dye job. I went to the auto parts store and purchase spray dye. It looks like spray paint but is made for fabric. I was able to get the boot red with just a little overspray on the crest. I picked up a couple of fabric pens to touch in the crest and decided to change the yellow on the stitching to gold so it would match the crest on the side of the boat.

Nice job RS! 👍🏻

Hopefully she won’t fade again too quickly. Way to represent the brand. 8-)

Yes that looks good for now. So it will be interesting to see how that all holds up.
Bfun you might be able to do that to your boot cover? Maybe dye it black!🤣

I really wish the covers were not red, they look great.... until the sun hits them for the first time and they fade!! At least it is just the boot that is faded, for now.

Yea my boat sits in the garage so no sun. I just covet it with a oldest canvas cover from my 202. It's quick and easy to get off and hook up and go. I just want to keep the dust off if it as we live next to a quarry. I think my black covers have been on a dozen times.

Already have the cobalt patch off, just haven't decided if I'm dyeing it, or paying someone.

Yellow is the new black.
