Thanks. Once I actually have the boat in my possession I will post some pics. I am going this Saturday to pick it up from the current owner. I have a good feeling that guy is honest and things will change hands flawlessly.

My more recent experience was I went to look at a 2000 262 with the fiberglass arch two Sundays ago. Seller and I had a hand shake deal. He was supposed to have had a trailer there and if he did I would have bought it and taken that day. However, he didnt. We agreed on a price and that I would come this past Saturday to pick it up. Sent me pics of the boat on the trailer, titles, etc. About Wednesday before I was set to pick it up he stopped responding to messages..Long story short the seller sold it to his uncle on Friday (so he said late Saturday night when he finally responded). It was listed for sale on Facebook for 40+ days and the day before I am set to come get the boat his uncle finally decides to buy it....

So that is last Cobalt purchase attempt. I think things happen for a reason, because I came across this 2003 262 with the 420 8.1L GXI that is significantly better condition. Plus the current owner seems to be a genuinely nice guy. I have a lot more faith in the seller; however, when I get it home I will get some pictures and post in the new members area. It has been years since I have owned a boat. It will be my first Cobalt and I am excited to be joining the community!

That is the dog breed that we have most of and help out with their rescue. My wife wanted to name the boat with something to do with Ridgebacks...I have come up with this idea so far. Plus, the boat I am getting has an additional swim platform and I was thinking either the name would have to go on the sides of boat or to the left and right of the pass through.

Love to hear some suggestions.

Thanks.

Creep'n Up

Previous boat was Just Creep'n so we wanted to work off that. Since selling that boat we moved north to Wisconsin so this worked for the wife. My thoughts are with 425hp, I am gonna be Creep'n up on you...

We are thinking of naming her “My Fehr Lady”. Our last name is Fehr, pronounced “fair”. There is no place on the back of the boat to put it so I’m going to have it stitched into the rear cushion in the off season.

I like it Mn! Having it stitched into the seat is created but I'll be curious to see how they do that. Will have to take the seat apart?

Yes Yt....im partial to blues and its color combos. First world problems and all...

My boat has an identity crisis of late. Red or black boat club? I feel a civil war brewing. Sniff.

Mn, that is truly one beautiful boat.
Yeah, not a lot of room for a boat name on a regular R series with speakers.
Add in the surf plaque, and there’s nothing left.

Just a suggestion.. you could always yank the R5 and Surf plaques. Save and reinstall them for when you are ready to sell.

Like that suggestion...as I wouldn't want to buy a boat with the name stitched into the seat...just my two cents.

I've seen a pic somewhere where the guy put the R5 decal somewhere else on the boat and that worked too but to each his own.

I've been trying to come up with a name for almost a year and just haven't found anything that I like for more than a day or two. Our last name is Wessel, some of our friends have already started calling it the Wessel Vessel. My wife thinks we should name it that. I'm unsure. Votes? Yay or nay?
