Custom Elevators for 190 Build Thread!
Custom Elevators for 190 Build Thread!
Guys,
I was thinking about adding an arch to the 190 and just heard that an arch from a 360 will soon become available!
So here's my question - Because the arch is much bigger than will fit on my boat and the weight of it will undoubtedly sink it we're going to have to make some mods.
I'm thinking of mounting elevators on the outside to raise and lower it in case I need to navigate under something but i can't think of what that might be right now...
Also definitely need to add some kind of ballast system to accommodate the extra weight... any ideas guys?
I'm thinking 50K to start the build.

You are overthinking this, just add a snorkel to the air intake and pull the drain plug.

Hmmm. I like where your head is at... What if we plexied the whole thing in and made it fully submersible?thunder550 wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:44 am You are overthinking this, just add a snorkel to the air intake and pull the drain plug.

Flex seal should do the trick.

That Arch is wider than your boat so I think I have a suggestion.
Drape it over your cockpit. It can be in midships but it would be more handy behind the seats. Before you do that though, you need to figure out a way to attach some anchors on the bottom. Not to hold it down... Flip the anchors upside down pointing forward and make them hydrofoils. Then when you have the arch draped over your boat the edges will be three or four feet down in the water. Nail that sucker down to the gunals, and when you take off your boat will literally come up out of the water! How cool is that?
And as far as the top of the arch is concerned? You can use that for handy little table. A place to put cups and things to eat. Or your wife and kids can dance on the platform! Handy huh?
You'll have to duck every time you walk under it though. When BB visits you, he won't have to duck. He's short enough to just scoot under.

You are a true visionary. But keep in mind we’re trying to eliminate all resale value and render it almost non functional from its original design.
I believe we’d have to add an extra extended swim platform... Say 6 ft or so to eliminate the rare but dread bow/stern capsize.
Discuss.

What if we just put your 190 inside of a 360 with the cuddy cut off like a bow rider. You would now have twin engines also.

How would we connect the 190 s helm as it is undoubtedly the greatest helm design imagined.
I wonder if cmatt has any thoughts on this conundrum.

Driller - any thoughts on offshore rig lighting we could repurpose for the undercarriage?

Ideally you could mount divits to the 6 ft platform.liquid wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:32 pmYou’re making a lot of sense... which is unusual.Big Block Power wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:25 pm What if we just put your 190 inside of a 360 with the cuddy cut off like a bow rider. There you will let your other 190 ride proudly as most prominent yacht owners have them selected as their primary dinghy.
As you approach such common low obstacles that require the normal 7ft 11in of clearance to pass underneath, you will simply lower your archless and windshieldless 190 by the hydraulic crane mounted to the port seating area and launch it safely.
At this point you will be able to navigate smartly without fear of these common low waterway obstructions.
You will then be able to go to your favorite dining waterfront restaurant “ Bubbas chicken & Brakes”.
Knowing your Arched 190 is anchored off in view for all to admire , you will smile at family and friends whom now look upon you as the engineering genius that you’ve grown to be.
Bravo!
