Hmm...COBAIT. That has my vote!
Sooo, replace the L with an I on both sides? Then when people look, they'll rub their eyes and look again. Then someone may come up to you, tap you on the shoulder and say "Hey, did you know your boat is misspelled? And do you know anything about cutting an arch off?"
Glad you're here Jason! And you'll get used (and understand) all the inside jokes if you stick around.

YT,
Why replace the L with an I? I can just snap off the bottom portion so it matches the other side. We are going for symmetry, right?
Maybe I ought to buy the web address cobait.com and make it a boat looking site. I might get some people looking into it.
However, when I got the lake yesterday every one was coming off the lake. They were all fishing boats. I was the only one putting in and the only one there something like this. Of course you have to run the captains call why you are idling at the courtesy dock.
Whats funny too was the only other boat I saw out there was yellow too. Well...there was a pontoon out there as well. All had yellow bimini tops. I guess yellow is popular around here.

So glad you had a great first trip out with the new boat and even better that your daughter loves it and the speed! She's hooked for sure! She will want her own boat one day!

I like the name Cobait. Especially if you are around a bunch of fishing boats.
If I had a yellow 262 I'd name it Big Bird lol.

Re: New Member 2003 262 8.1l GXi From NE Texas
Okay. So I figured I would use this intro thread as also a thread for upgrades I have done to my boat.
I put a slide anchor with a new anchor line on and in the bow compartment.
Behind the helm I organized the extra life jackets, used a plastic milk crate to contain to the new first aid kit, spot light, 12V pump, and a couple extra pins for the bimini top. Also a couple spare yellow bow lines.
In the center floor console I put a new gaffing pole, a flag pole with a hook up for the orange skier down flag, and a 4' skier down flag. I had some organizer along the side that they all snapped into that keeps it from bouncing around. I also put in a few new yellow bow lines. I have an American and Texas flag to choose from.
I installed a new sony head unit (sorry for the bad picture I took it at night right after installing it.
Today I got my Simrad Go7 XSE installed. Pictures attached.
I have some stereo, boat plug lights, stainless cup holders, and RGB light upgrades coming that I hope to start working on next week. I am pumped. I may even have a few other things coming that I forgot I ordered.

Thanks. I have a friend here who is a audio/video integrator here.
He ordered me 6 wet sound speakers with the RGB lights an a wet sounds amp (not sure which one). He ordered a a roll of RGB leds from wet sounds too and we are going to use that to light up the new cup holders.
I think all that stuff should be here Tuesday and I will get pictures of it all.
From Boat Plug Light I ordered two Vega PRD lights to put into the Y-Knot splitter.
https://boatpluglight.myshopify.com/col ... 000-lumens
https://boatpluglight.myshopify.com/col ... -splitters
Our biggest hurdle right now, is trying to find a RGB controller that we like before we start programing a raspberry pie computer card. We want to be able to save and control scenes with all the RGB lights I think it would be sweet to able to have that preset and then also be able to adjust it on the fly if needed.
If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Looking good JM! I’ve got the same chart plotter and I put it in the same location. I absolutely love it. If you ever do any night boating it is a worthwhile investment.

Thanks. Lake Wright Patman is 16miles from my drive way to the boat ramp I use. It is a fairly new corp lake and there is still a lot of flooded timber area. I like the depth charts from Naviotronics and that it has a lot of the flooded timber areas marked plus what I think is the original river that the corp used to dam up into the lake. It is about a 30 sq mile lake, and I think with the Simrad and once I get around to mounting the transducer it will open up a lot of the lake.
I just got the old owner's registration numbers off and the new ones on. That old stuff was hard to remove. It was nothing a good ol' razor blade couldnt take care of.
J/K I didnt use a razor blade! Actually some WD40 and heat gun on low heat (nothing warmer than my fingers could stand) did the trick great.

Got an umbrella rigged up over the swim platform. Not sure yet if I want cut to the pipe shorter and the umbrella shorter. I wanted to try it out in the water and see how it shades before I cut anything.
I also got my Texas flag attached. On the flag pole is the mount for the skier down in the water orange flag.

You know Jason, you and I have talked a lot since you joined the Forum, almost every day, so I feel like we're friends. I know that everyone else is being nice by being quiet when it comes to that fugly umbrella, so believe me when I say this out of love and respect...
That thing has to go! Put a solid color on there, like back. Then it will look awesome!
I mean, I know you have a Texas flag and all, but even that doesn't excuse that umbrella!
