Dead Guages and Switchs

Post by willyswagon »

If your 26 SD will trim up and dowm, turn over the engine, but has dead guages and switches(bilge pump still works). Check the 40 Amp stud style circuit breaker. This breaker also powers the engine hatch. It is under the starboard hatch for the cockpit walk through. You have to remove the mesh storage bag to get at it. It is there with the Amplifier, and Bilge Pump breakers. Keep a spare cause they are only $7, and can ruin an afternoon of fun! ;)

I've never had one pop on our 260 series. It's not common to see the breaker pop but occasionally it can happen. Any idea what caused it WW? :?:

No idea. Boat has been sitting in the driveway for the last 2 weeks with all power off and the bilge plug out of the hull. I took the covers off of it mid week to make sure everything was good and dry before we finish up for the season. I lifted the engine hatch to see how much work cleaning the bilges would be this fall. All was fine then. The only thing I can think is maybe when I put the hatch down,if I didn't let off of the engine hatch switch as soon as it closed, it may have spiked and popped the breaker?

But I think I'd hear a 40 Amp breaker snap.
