Seat Pan Repair kits now available!

Hi folks,
I'm putting this here instead of the forsale section because there were a handful of people who expressed interest that may not frequently check the other subform. Admins - if you think it should be moved, go ahead.

It took me a few weeks longer than I wanted, but I have a handful of seatpan kits available. Per feedback from my proto tester (thank you Bobo87!) I'm including longer screws for reattaching the seat base cushion as well, so this should be everything you need. These are for the ~2003 to ~2008 (maybe longer) seats with the rear storage pockets. If your seat does not have the rear storage pocket, then these won't fit.

The price is $200 each kit (1 seat) shipped to the lower 48. If you're outside of that, let me know and we'll work out shipping.

As a previous customer I wanted to assure everyone these are a first class fix for the seat! Sliderule’s quality is great! This kit fixed my broken chair better than new and re-eforced my other chair so I never have to worry about it breaking. The repairs is simple. You will spend more time cleaning all the gunk you find under the seat than the actual repair! It is amazing how the underside of a chair can get dirty.

In these seats (with the rear pocket), the plastic that the Bolster hinges attach to has a weak area and has a tendency to break:

So, this plate attaches on the top of the plastic seat pan. The 'plugs' are the means of securing the plate to the plastic seat pan.
Then you reattach the bolster hinges to the aluminum and the seat cushion reattaches above the aluminum plate.

Yes, it does raise the height of the seat pad by .25", but that's probably a better tradeoff than having the bolster bend down and eventually breaking off.

SSR you are welcome. I am glad you made them available for others. When I first saw mine all I could see was $$$$$$$$. I spent several days staring at the seat throwing around ideas.

It's a great design, Boatrover! Clean and straight forward. I only simplified the plug design a bit, so that I wasn't standing at the lathe for hours on each one.
