Matt, I just had the glass swim platform which was a bit grungy so nothing had to be removed. Hope all is well.

Looks fantastic Markus! Hope to do the same next year with our swim platform. I'm still concerned about how slick this can get while wet. Hopefully you can give us your thoughts about that next year as we continue to gather owner's opinions.

Yea believe it or not I make 99% of all of the boat and boating decisions. I don't ask and she doesn't tell. I'm pretty lucky they all just jump in and we go.
Heck I would buy and sell them so often she just knew another one would show up in the garage.

Roger that. The other concern is how quickly the tan color may fade in full sun without a cover on it. Our swim platform is always exposed.

Just thought I’d bump this thread with an update. After our Cobalt Factory Tour where many of us notice the SeaDek type material was being installed with snaps in place of carpet or sea grass and after going to the Houston Boat Show Sunday, I notice this trend was not just in the Cobalt Boats. Naturally it looked the best in Cobalt though. . Anyway. I was inspired to contact SeaDek directly to see if they could use my carpet as a template and make me some mats. Below is the email I got back from them:

Good morning James,

We are very happy you still love your SeaDek on your Cobalt. Currently, we are only installing and testing snap kits on our OEM (manufacturers) customers. You can possibly go through Cobalt to order this material. I do apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to have this available for our end users soon. Thank you and let me know if you have any questions.

So now I am bummed because it appears I will have to wait for them to open up to the gen pop market. Perhaps if those of us who are interested expressed that interest to them, or a competitor or a dealer, we could fast track this?

I am open the suggestions and ideas.

You can buy the material yourself and get the mat without the sticky goo backing and add your own snaps. Again I was told you could not use your carpet for a template because it has shrunk just like something in cold water. But remember this stuff is very light and can fly out very easy from the wind you create while moving.

BBP - seems like there is some sort of extra padding on the back in place of the sticky tape. Maybe just thicker material but what I saw at the show seemed a little different. While understand carpet can shrink shrink and stretch as long as it still fits it should be a good template for them to star when rather than drawing the whole thing out on acetate. Since I am a little particular I would still request a dry fit until I felt it was right. Went through a couple of dryfits with the sticky on the swim deck. As far as making my own, work and family suck most of my time away! But maybe since I have a support group here to hold my hand.
