It's funny to see the difference in climate from one end of the membership to the other. You guys up north are having what to us here in the south is spring weather. We'll be suffering now until September when it finally starts to cool down.

It's 81 right now. Kind of been hanging around that for awhile. The bad part is the rain. Southern Wisconsin is flooding and that's going into northern Illinois as the chain there is a mess right now with boats floating on there lifts and boats sinking. Dry dock marinas look like they are in the water.

Was at Laurel Lake in southeast Ky. Tuesday through Thursday. Air temp was 95 and water temp was 82. Was refreshing but even sitting under the Bimini was too hot.

Do you guys pull your carpet out when it's that hot. I'm thinking mid to high 80's that carpet gets hot sitting in one spot in the sun.

No. I don't. Keep the Bimini up though. That shades a large portion of the boat. The bow gets hot though. Seats get hotter than the carpet.

Treat the seats with UV protection after every trip out. Quick spray and wipe down. Just in case any sunscreen got on them and to help with the sun. My boat has been down in this heat for 7 years and shows no sign of fading.

Driller what does the water temp get up to on Travis?

Here is a shot of one of the big cliffs on our lake. I'm guessing it's plus or minus 100'. You can see a house up in the right corner. I bet it's a great view!

Looks like I have the same carpet as you BBP, sort of gray. Here in the Valley of the Sun where it gets over 110f frequently I leave the carpet in but wet it thoroughly. Of course the bimini is always up, which keeps the sun off the deck. Because we have low humidity here the carpet totally dries on during the 45 min drive home. No mold issues here. I did learn the painful way what happens when the carpet gets hot, hence my watering of it.

It's just when ever you see the boats from the mid to southern part of the U.S. The carpet is not in it. I know how hot mine gets sometimes it's a brownish color and I had the Gray color. We get hot sometimes but I burn the bottom of my feet sometimes and really surprised it got that hot and it's only in the 80's. I really can't imagine what it feels like from some of you other guys if it isn't wet. The binimi only blocks do much of it.

I almost pulled the trigger on Seagrass, but then noticed none of my friends at the lake had their carpet in because it gets too hot. So my deck is bare. It's way easier to clean too!

Even at 100+ Degrees, my carpet is comfortable it has never felt hot. I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago to clean it and the rubber backing was in excellent condition. No problem with it at all. It is the lighter sandstone or beige color, and the thicker "wave / weave pattern" maybe that has something to do with it not getting so hot.

Yea you would think as a boat interior designer I would think light color on the floor would be a smart idea. But that dark gray or brown Sure looks good.lol
