Geneva interior questions

Post by tfarmer »

Could anyone comment on the darker brown seats called Geneva and how hot they are compared to the normal cream color seats?

What about them staying any cleaner? I have a tritoon with cream color seats and they always show every spec of dirt and/or mold.

I'm going out on a limb here and saying it's going to be plenty warm. Where do you boat? The south, Midwest, north, west, east?
I would get a all white interior if I could. I've had dark colors and they are hot. Mastercraft say their dark colors are cool due to their cool fabric. Ok what ever. But I see black interiors in Az so maybe their special fabric is really cool fabric.

Just got back from the boat show and all the Malibu boats there were all dark interior... Like dark blue and black seats... No way my ass is sitting on that when it's 95 degrees out!

Dark may hide stains from your friends never washed bathing suit or the spider/ fly poop that leaves the wonderful yellow stains that only the sun can fade.

I spent time in a friends Eliminator with Dark grey “Alcantra fabric “. It was amazing how cool it was. I’m seeing a lot recently on DCB and expect to see more on boats soon.

It feels like soft seude or ultra vynle. I still loce white!

I think you would be looking to fry a egg on your arse. 🍳🍳🍳
I guess let's see if anyone has those colors and they come in. I don't remember seeing any though.

95 is a cold front here in July and August. I'll pass on the dark interior, and break out the 3M cleaner.

Stingray has been putting black and white in their interiors for awhile. They claim that it is a special material that doesn't soak in the heat, haven't tried it but the claim is theirs. I was going to order geneva because I like the looks and maybe it would hide stains better, but found my current boat with the standard white and grey already built and heavily discounted.

Yea same claim Mastercraft is making. Cobalt will also tell you the viynl is also already protected. Get white throw some conditioner on it and clean away and be cool and happy.

Ok yeah this really bugs the s**t out of me. what are you all using to clean this up? Vinyl sauce doesn't cut it.

I would like to see the geneva in person. Not a huge fan of it when I initially saw it but I've seen subsequent pics and I'm starting to soften a bit on it.

I spoke about colour with the Cobalt rep last weekend. He said the dark colour looks rich but gets hotter than the white seats (obviously). I guess it depends where you boat. I have a black seat on my 2016 Sea-Doo, but it's easy to cool down with a splash of water. Not so easy with a boat interior.

The factory rep said that the white material they use on the current boats is extremely durable and cleans up very well. It resists harsh cleaners, as well. I'd stick with a light colour. I think its more usable, even though it may take a bit of elbow grease each season to clean it up.

Not much does but the trick is moisturize the stain and let mother nature UV bleach her back.

I use Bio-Kleen products. Use the amazing cleaner. Then the protectant. But I’ll put the heavy stuff that is like vasaline ( West marine protectant) on the stain.

Gone the next sunny boating day! I also use the Gel based west marine stuff on all the stitching. Then I use the Bio-Kleen on all the surfaces.

See brown interior isn’t so bad🤣.. bring a towel if it’s to hot!
