Welcome Jeeper! To bad you didn't order a tab before we all went on the factory tour. We could have "customized" it for you!

The spraying process is very interesting there. The gelcoat spray and fiberglass is a week or so process because they have to let it cure in between. Then afterwards its around 2 to 3 weeks and you should be built. Then testing, wrapped and shipped. What did they say for a delivery date?

I ordered in November when there was a $5000 incentive for orders that month. I told them I didn’t need it until spring so they haven’t given me a exact date. Even though there is snow on the ground I’m getting excited to see it.

Hey Jeeper. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Like bbp mentioned, looking forward to pics of your new baby after delivery. :D

Feel free to start an intro thread if you have the time. We enjoy hearing how folks get into a Cobalt. With this being your first new model, have you owned any used boats in the past?

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Hmm.. that has me thinking on my boat history...

I bought my first boat at 22. A 16' aluminum fishing boat with a center console and outboard. Second boat at 26. A 1965 Eivnrude Playmate with a 14' fiberglass tri-hull and a2-stroke 90hp inboard. I loved that boat and had it a long time! That motor would make that little thing fly but it rode like a beet wagon. It looked just like this:

Then at 40 I bought a 19' FourWinns bowrider with a 5.7. And at 54 my first Cobalt 240 and 56 my second one, my current ride.

So I guess I don't fit in the averages either...

That boat has a lot of clown horns on it YT.

I would upload the build sheet if I could figure out how from my IPad. Anyway it is all white with a black stripe and black folding tower, Tahoe Grey interior,I like the classic Cobalt look. I’m getting the 380, bow and cockpit covers, premium sound ,dual battery’s and a few other items. I didn’t get any of the lightning options because I don’t boat at night. I’m getting kind of excited to see it every though it won’t be warm enough to use it for a few months.

Sounds like a beauty. I just put a deposit on an R7 (non surf) with the same color scheme

Lake Powell is my favorite lake but it is about 7 hrs away. There are several smaller lakes less than a hour away from Salt Lake City that are usually crowded but ok for a afternoon trip. Starvation Resevoir is 2 hrs away in Eastern Utah is where we like to go for a weekend.
I have a 190 that I have owned since 2006. It always feels small at Lake Powell, I’m really looking forward to a bigger boat.

Yes I think those numbers reflect Brand New boats purchased. I would suspect there are several of us over 50 that have yet to buy new as well.

I honestly don't think I'll ever buy a brand new boat. I just couldn't take the instant depreciation, and then the first scratch would be worse, lol.

I've never owned a brand new boat. Not sure I ever will.

Bought my first boat at 30. 190 at 37?

To give you data my father just bought his first brand new boat at 73.
