Re: New Year's Resolutions--Do you? If so, what
Forgot about this stupid photo issue. Will someone fix for me?
I took the old room to studs and started over. Everything is new and I did most of the work. Had help hanging the cabinets (there were 34 of them) and some assistance figuring out 46 years of really f**ked up wiring. Finally went back to the panel and started over. I'm waiting for my low voltage under, and over, cabinet LED lighting to show up then I can do the crown molding on the top and finish trimming.

Looks great! Do you find that you use the farmers sink much? I'm going to remodel our kitchen at some point and we've kicked a sink like that around some. It's kinda the "thing" nowdays.

We've got the under mount "farmers" sink in our St. Louis house and the wife and I love it. With us both working so much we do a lot of crockpot meals on the weekends so we don't have to cook every night during the week. And it is really nice for scrubbing large pots and pans. You don't end up getting water all over the kitchen.Ytmsn wrote: Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:57 am Looks great! Do you find that you use the farmers sink much? NautiGirl wrote: Sat Dec 29, 2018 5:41 pmNo internet? Cold Turkey? I get it - Katie and I both work in IT and we spend a ton of time on the internet. We made a single night a week "no device night" and we (I) have a hard time sticking to that. Think about all the quick things you use the internet for - just a few examples since I read this post:sailor55330 wrote: Sat Dec 29, 2018 11:26 am
3. I will do my best to walk away from the internet for anything other than work. I am forced to use email and smartphones as we all are in work. Other than that, I will do my best not to spend any voluntary time on the internet.
"Hey Katie what is the weather looking like tomorrow?"
"Hmm what do we want to cook for new years dinner?"
"We should use our tax return to take a trip let me look at flights"
Good luck is all I have to say. Send a carrier pigeon BBP's way when you are ready to sell your boat he will respond /w an offer via smoke signals.
I see you made it 27 days without any voluntary time on the internet. I get it, that boat show write up was really well done.
Better than I could do.

Re: New Year's Resolutions--Do you? If so, what
Nice job NOLA. So agree with everyone posting about resolutions being fleeting. My wife decide 5 months ago to start working out. 5 months later and she'd in terrifyingly good shape for a mother of 3. I had another high school buddy drop dead over the holidays... barely 40. Lost another last year at 39.
The late comedian Patrice O'neal said anything you're not doing by 40 you'll never do. Well I joined the gym last week. It was rough. I'm going again tomorrow. And Thursday. No NYE's resolution, but a resolution to be better for myself and kids and also so my wife doesn't leave me.

Re: New Year's Resolutions--Do you? If so, what
Thanks for all of the compliments everyone. We did the farmhouse sink because it is the current "trendy" thing but I also like the look. But in hindsight I have a couple of observations. I needed a 42" sink base in that spot and that called for a 36" sink. Plus we like the divided bowl and have a 60/40 split. However, that size/style sink in porcelain retailed for about $1400 so I went with stainless for $725. And this thing is big enough to degrease an engine block. But we all have experience with stainless and as expected, the sink is scratched already. The bar/prep sink at the other end of the kitchen came with a nice wire grid sink protector. The big sink did not and I can't find any that fit. So, for my anal retentive piece of mind I think I should have spent the money and gone with porcelain. On the other hand, with all of the stainless appliances, I like the way the sink looks. Actually I am pretty pleased with the whole project.Ytmsn wrote: Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:57 am Looks great! Thanks again for all of the kind words....now lets go boating.

Re: New Year's Resolutions--Do you? If so, what
I should of responded way back when but i didn't like to talk about my weight back then. I let my weight get up there over the past several years. I decided late last year to make some changes after watching a couple friends on facebook get great results. One friend started a keto diet and between august and dec went from 260 to 200 lbs. Very inspirational to me personally.
I am happy to report that after starting my keto diet on Jan 5th i am down to 229 lbs today after 11 weeks. I haven't been here in more than a decade. I started this journey with a goal of loosing 50 lbs and I am 4 lbs away from meeting that). After a couple weeks on the diet, i decided to revise my goal to 200lbs. with a long term plan of staying under 190.
I feel so much better. My cloths started fitting well and now they are starting to not fit well again b/c they are too big. My first purchase soon will be a new belt because the one that I started with (i was on the widest slot) is only going to last just a couple weeks longer as I am now on the smallest slot.
Yes resolutions suck and I didn't start this lifestyle change as a resolution, more a I wanted to have a better quality of life again. I wanted to water ski again. I wanted to enjoy seeing myself in photos, etc. just wanted to share with my CC friends.
