Do you guys thing the Merc 4.5L/200hp is going to be underpowered? We're on a 640 acre lake (40MPH limit) where usually the worst wake is from wakeboard boats. 2/4 adults normally, at most 4 adults, 4 kids and kneeboarding, tubing. The dealers seem to be defaulting to the VP/240hp. Thanks for any input.
So in answer to you jrsem.
As you may know a group of us went to Cobalt for the spectacular tour. Looking at the builds on the CS series and the 200-220 was the Base V6... ( Gulp ) 240hp engine. I came across enough to realize they have the confidence that it will perform well. And in competitive markets it makes a big difference. I’m sure it will work for your environment.

Lake Geneva in Wisconsin is a beautiful big lake and they put a 45 mph limit. First positive result was the disappearance of the offshore powerboat gang. The Fox River/ ChainOLakes system could use the same sanity brought to it.

No way, half the fun is looking at all the hot boats cruising the Chain. If Mother Nature would stop kicking us in the junk the Northern Illinois Offshore Club could start the shootout again. Sorry, but Lake Geneva banned through hull exhaust too, no fun up there. The Chain serves a different crowd, we like to get down!

Not sure on the speed limit, but the ban on through hull has been in place for several years.

I have the v6 280hp dp in my 220s and it has plenty of power. May be a good option for your rig.
