Flag pole replacement

Post by Cobaltboat246 »

So I have a 2004 Cobalt 246 with a factory installed flag pole. unfortunately I have lost the flag pole at the bottom of the lake. Ive been trying for years to find one and no luck, Cobalt doesn't make them anymore and I can't seem to find them on any website used (eBay, craigslist, etc.). what I have found is this website here http://www.tigtechmarine.com does anyone know if this is legit. I called cobalt and they said that the company who made them was quality welded products. I'm so lost and could use some guidance.

It is legit Cobalt246. If for some reason my dealer can't get one fast enough from Cobalt, he mentioned he will use the tigtechmarine.com site.

The cobalt site still lists them on their page. You just have to find your nearest dealer.

Tigtech is legit. They're sort of a "neighbor" to Cobalt rather than a huge manufacturer like Garelick, and consequently don't have a very fancy web page.

The ones from Cobalt are from China. They were trying to get the cost down and still charge the same price. Tig is great.glad I could help a good local Kansas company.

She looks great CB246! The OCD in me wants to cut that little tag off. 😁

Our original flag on our 2002 262 was rock solid. Push, twist and pull it out. Never had any issues.

I've heard there are ones manufacturered since which bounce out easily while underway. Can anyone confirm this. Gerrys marine made sure to install the one which does not come loose. I wish I could remember which one that was! Doh. 😬
I do know it cost $495.

You can get them for $300 from the OEM. Cobalt doesn't use them anymore (they have them made overseas) but a number of dealers still buy from them and they now sell to individuals. They take PayPal which I know someone mentioned is fishy but they are a husband and wife company. She's a teacher and he's a pipe fitter. He actually designed the pole and started with Cobalt in 1998. It was his side business. They only make the flagpoles and when selling to dealers just sell on net terms. When they decided to offer to individuals PayPal was the only option since they arent set up for credit cards. The is on their web page www.tigtechmarine.com . Anyway, $300 is a lot but you know you're getting the real heavy duty flagpole and flag.
