Im thinking I'll need somewhere around a 5500-6000 lb capacity lift for my 252. Boat and trailer together weighed in at 6450 when I took it to a scale last year. Lake level fluctuates quite a bit during the year, so it will need to be a floating lift that's secured to the dock. I'm trying to get an idea of what this will cost....what have some of you paid for your lifts installed? New or used? Recommendations on brands? I've heard a lot about Hydrohoist, but not much else.

Lift brands and cost?
Just put ourselves on the wait list for a covered slip at Lake Pleasant here in AZ...hopefully mid to late summer we'll be keeping the boat on the lake

I've got a boatfloater 6600lb lift. I paid 6500 for it out the door installed. So far I am very happy with the lift. It is a side mounted lift so it lifts the boat straight up. So I don't have to worry about holding onto the cleat or anything while it goes up. Dry weight on my R7 is 5600lbs and it picks the boat up no problem with a full tank of gas (77gal) and my gear.
Table Rock can fluctuate 15-20ft up or down any given season so it is mounted to my slip.

Re: Lift brands and cost?
I am also in the market for a boat lift on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees in NE Oklahoma. Here is some info I have gathered.
A new Hydrohoist 6,600 lb lift in our area installed is around $8,000. Comparable Boat Floater lift 6,700 lbs installed is also around $8,000. Both manufacturers use polyethylene tanks and galvanized steel frames. There are no metal parts below the water line when the lifts are in the up position which is an advantage over older models with fiberglass tanks secured with metal belly straps that corroded over time.
I have read reviews of both Hydrohoist and Boat Floater lifts and owners seem pleased with both, and used prices seem to be about the same. I found a used 6,600 lb Hydrohoist lift on Craigslist this week that was 3 years old and was listed for $4,500. The listing was only 7 hours old when I called and it had already sold. Used lifts with the poly tanks are very hard to find and are in the $4,500 - $5,500 price range (you are responsible for relocation and installation). Older used fiberglass lifts are running around $2,500 - $3,000 but often require new hardware for the tanks which runs a few hundred. Installation cost on Grand Lake runs around $700 for a used lift (or could be more if they have to disassemble and move it very far).
Boating season is here and I am anxious to get my boat in the slip so may have to buy a new lift. I'm not too keen on shelling out $8K but knowing it will have some value on the used market lessens the sting.

I reached out to Hydrohoist for a lift that can attach one side to a floating dock and lift an R3. They quoted me $16,000 for a HarborHoist model that will be suitable for shallow water.

Verticals lifts won’t work? Easy to use up north, drag them in the water in spring and pull them out at end of summer.BobRae99 wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 7:04 pmAbout 5’.ajcampen wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:48 pmHow deep is the water your boat is docked in. Re: Lift brands and cost?
I have to use a floating dock. Lake Winnipeg fluctuates throughout the summer, depending on the level set by our Hydro utility (within limits) and snowmelt/rainfall. In addition, because the lake is very large and shallow (averages 30'), sustained winds from the north can push water in a southerly direction and we can see water in the marina rise by 3 - 4' over a short period of time. That dictates a floating dock. I only have 1 finger dock to attach to in the double slip I'll be sharing with another boat, so Hydrohoist recommended their "Harbourhoist" as the appropriate lift. Add a 34% exchange rate, plus $2,000 in freight, plus assembly and I've reluctantly determined that its just better to moor the boat in the water.
I saw my old 210 (just traded) at the dealer after cleanup - it looked the same as when I picked it up new last year, so not too concerned about the bottom of the hull. The boat is in relatively cool water for about 12 weeks a year, so I'm thinking it will be fine. Still, the OCD in me wants it on a lift. If I did get a lift, I'd be the only guy in the marina out of 200 boats that has one. I don't want to stand out even though I was the only Cobalt owner in the marina and the dealer tells me I'll be the only R3 owner on Lake Winnipeg.

Nice deal! Udock I’m assuming? So hydro hoist level lifts with new poly tanks are nice. Even earlier fiberglass are great if you can score a used one! ( Stay away from front mounted used )thunder550 wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2019 8:51 am Just put ourselves on the wait list for a covered slip at Lake Pleasant here in AZ...hopefully mid to late summer we'll be keeping the boat on the lake

Our next door neighbor has the harbor hoist. Runs on solar or 120v. Lifts level and has adjustable bunks.BobRae99 wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 4:50 pm I reached out to Hydrohoist for a lift that can attach one side to a floating dock and lift an R3. His only complaints is boarding the boat when lifted, and difficulty in wiping down the sides as there covered almost entirely.
Possibly a type B side tie hydro hoist may be reasonable and used ones are plentiful.
You almost in sun stream $$ price so check those out as they have cover options.
