262 Flagpole Install

You can sand your teak. It won't hurt it. I would use a 220 grit or higher to start with. You can then oil it with teak oil but the oil won't last, I prefer to finish the teak in a satin finish. It will stay looking nice much longer.

Thanks, I installed my window latch and it came out a little crooked, but nothing anybody could notice but me. I dont want to screw up my flagpole installation, so I'm going to have my marina install it. IT should be ready Saturday.

Sorry I just get worried about someone else drilling holes in my boat. I rather mess it up myself. Hope it goes well and post pictures when it's done.

Flagpole is in. It does not sit tight in the base. I might wrap some electrical tape around it to stop the rattle while underway.

You pointed out my dirty teak in my last post. I have since powerwashed it and scrubbed it with teak cleaner. It is still black in some places. I was wondering if lightly sanding it would help...or hurt.

You can’t hurt teak. I use steel wool pad and then wipe down with teak oil. 30 year old teak will look like new.

That's one of the differences between the OEM model which uses a spring-turn-and-lock base to keep her secured and free from rattling.

Looks good...just don't lose it!
