That car has an LS swap in it before and the owner claims the Tesla swap is faster.

Fortunately he wrote it as civil, so I'm eligible to take traffic school and the ticket will be dismissed. Not sure about other states, but in AZ drivers are eligible once a year to have a civil traffic citation dismissed by taking a class. Because it was over 85, the officer had the option to write it as a misdemeanor citation, which would not be eligible to be dismissed.

Glad he missed my onramp jaunt, I'm pretty confident that would have had a different ending 🤣🤣🤣
Get yourself a high end radar detector. I’ve had a radar detector since I was about 20 and it saves me a ticket at least couple times each year. I did get busted for 11 over in a 65 zone last summer but it would have been more like 25 over without the detector. I had to go to court but if I stay clean for another 2 months, it stays off my record. The Tesla is just way too fun to keep it at the posted limit!

My bulky 15 year old 8500 series passport has paid for itself many times. It has laser but you better be ready to lock em up when that one chirps . New smaller ( wire in ) versions are nice if you don’t want portable.

I have a Valentine that has saved me literally hundreds of times, but now with all the front and rear bumper sensors on vehicles it goes off all the time, so I hardly ever use it anymore unless I'm on a state highway blasting between small towns.

That being said, I pay a stupid tax all the time. Just got one a couple of weeks ago.

I have a Passport iX. It was hardwired into the BMW, haven't done it in the Tesla yet. Was planning to just run it on road trips via suction cup and 12v socket rather than having it hardwired and on all the time. Since the guy got me with laser it wouldn't have mattered, by the time I reacted he would have had me anyway. May still hardwire it, but apparently there's nowhere in the mirror to get power, would have to run wires down the A pillar. I'm trying (and succeeding so far) to just slow down. It's a lot more relaxing.
