"Aslan I wonder if they used most of the Cobalt prewire for the install. It's all there. Would be nice to know. Thanks."

Yes...used all the pre wire right to the switch on the helm that says "Captain's Call".

Yt, something I never would have thought about until I had my last boat was "choice". The guy I bought the boat from had it installed after he got the boat but you couldn't turn it off. This was almost a deal killer for my wife. We got used to it but if you get it installed, be sure of what you're getting. For what it's worth, I loved the sound but would not order it on a new boat.

Good luck

Absolutely. IMHO, Do not get this without the choice to be able to switch it thru the prop. WAF is low on these.

I like it but I'd never order it. Can't imagine the wife would enjoy it at all.

I'm kinda the opposite, Liquid. The two boats we've owned without CC made me miss it. Love hearing the raw sound of a big block on startup and the ability to silence it thru the prop if desired.

In fact, I remember seeing thru hull exhaust even as a 10 year old boy hanging out at Harvey's lake marina. It was exciting at the boat ramp watching start-ups.

Just so raw and powerful. Almost baboon like!

All good points.. definitely out the back as BB stated..side kits sound choppy.. although it's said to be less sooty.
I like switching them off when I want and I found it does make a difference in top end on mine . 2-3mph from what I've seen back to back wot.

Hey Matt. I've heard that as well (2-3 mph) although I cannot confirm it.

It is certainly a frivolous extra. But hey, I have friends that say that about owning a boat to begin with!

To each his own...for me, I'll take CC every time;-)

I couldn't turn it off on my donzi. It was straight out the back. You really couldn't hear it as you were going down the lake from inside the boat. Clifford was out the side. I miss it but don't miss it I wish I had it. How's that.

If it happens it will happen out the back. At least that's what my friend said. And maybe trim tabs at the same time?

Well I can certainly recommend those two items, Ytmsn since I just had the CC and Bennett tabs installed last week.

Another electric trim tab option is the Lenco Marine variety. They did not have one's that would work on a 263.

I hear you, and the kids in me knows exactly what you're talking about. My brother said put it in immediately. I've always associated that growl with CC so i dunno. On my 19 fter... eh. Maybe If i ran it like Fozzy it'd be a no brainer but this thing spends the bulk of it's time at about 10 MPH.
