Glad to see you back on. Get those Florida pictures rolling.

What I would give to be 18 again. Got to take my Grand-Niece and her friends out this weekend. Pulled them on the tubes till they cried "No Mas". Took 8 hrs and 4 tubes, but they finally gave in. Good fun and a great time visiting with my Niece while the kids tubed.

Miss Ellie is soooo tiny!!!! But looks adorable in her tiny little life jacket! How did she do?
She did awesome. It was a crazy day. Like YT, the weather was brutal this month, so EVERYONE with a boat was out this perfect weekend. Long story short, we had to wait over an hour to enter the marina because it was over capacity.
She was patient, and didn’t care less. We were out for a few hours and she just hung with us like a champ!

Thanks Tusc, but ya know, it was still a great weekend, even with all the challenges! We were at the lake!

This was our first weekend at the lake. We had some challenges but it was a great weekend! The water is still 26 ft high and my dock is waaaay out there, and they dont have any flood ramps to get to it. So I used a little paddle boat to go back and forth.
20190614_192934.jpg

After sitting on the lift for 2 months the boat was nasty. Then I discovered both batteries dead as a hammer. And the Perko was off. Hmm... Well, they ran the wiring underground when they built this dock so there is still power. So plug in the charger and go back to the house.

Friday morning (paddlepaddlepaddle) I get back out there to discover the GFI was tripped. grr. So the batteries didn't charge at all. All well, flip the switch, the charger is on, so go to work. Wipe, clean, polish, wipewipewipe. 2 hours later I hit the starter and nothing. double grr

Long story short, I bought 2 new 27s and packed them out there in the paddle boat. Ever try to unload a heavyass battery up onto a dock from a paddle boat? I hoist the first one up on a lift and the paddle boat scoots backwards. GRR.

Now I'm stretched out like a horizontal plank, clinging to the battery with one hand and a bunk off the lift with the other, with my feet still in the paddle boat. But I'm NOT going to drop that expensive battery in the drink, so I power crunch the boat back under me with sheer willpower and stupidity.

Got the batteries up by the boat. But let's hit the starter one more time. VROOM! Whadaheck.... I just installed these last fall but they wont hold a charge. So swap 'em out.

Finally got about two hours on the water that evening and it was freakin perfect.

Saturday it rained. Ever heard that song "Have you ever seen the rain?" I'd like to punch that guy in the nose.

So in between showers we paddled out to the dock and did some slip boating like Jeff and Katie. We listened to the tunes, did a little reading, and it was awesome!

Last night it rained 3 more inches. And it was raining when we left.

Oh yeah.. no pictures of the paddle boat. Sorry
Fantastic imagery YT.

Sad story on fb...guy off Long Island goes to sandbar, sucks up sand. Engine shuts itself down. Waits hours for tow boat....seas get rough. Water over the bow multiple times. Bilge pump fails boat eventually takes too much water and stern goes under

I saw this on facebook. So sad to see. I sucked up sand on an old boat I had out on the Mississippi river and had water halfway up in my engine bay. And that is when I found out my bilge had failed me as well. Luckily it was a calm day and we got sea tow to yank us in. Then had to paddle the boat onto the trailer so we could pull the drain plug. Not a fun day at all.

That story really didn't make a ton of sense to me, think there is more to it than he is sharing, but regardless the result sucked.
