Last Friday night major storms came through our area and did major damage to Kentucky Dam Marina. One pier completely broke away and roof damage to several others. Then late yesterday afternoon Moors Marina took a direct hit of something and now also has severe damage. The weather people haven’t said if they were tornados or not. My lake house is about halfway between each of these marina which are only about 5 miles apart by water. We were out late yesterday afternoon about 2 minutes away from our house when we heard the weather sirens going off from a fire station about 2 miles from the house. By the time I pulled in the slip the sky’s darkened and the temperature dropped about 15 degrees. Almost did make it unloading and covering the boat before all hell broke loose.
Lesson learned. If he ever hear weather sirens or get a weather alert on your phone they needs to be taken very seriously.

Wow glad everything is alright with your boat! I saw some of the pics on Facebook. Pretty scary and a lot of damage.

Re: Bad weather weekend on Kentucky Lake
I remember growing up we would camp and sail on Kentucky Lake. Weather did come up quick. Glad no one was hurt.

Man that's scary. Last November we had a tornado come up the east side of the lake. It took out Snake Creek Marina (over 250 slips, gas dock and store, all gone) and it hit 200 yards to our west. Tore up trees in my front and took a bunch of porch roofs off. And they still haven't cleaned anything up. Theres a dock we were looking st last fall to buy. It's gone along with 12 more. I dont mean damaged, I mean gone..
A direct hit to the Corp park to our West. Its closed for the year.
